TREVOR LUCAS
Trevor Lucas - an influential folk artist, a member of Fairport Convention and one of the founders of Fotheringay.Trevor Lucas (25 December 1943 - 4 February 1989) guitarist and vocalist for such bands as Fairport Convention and Fotheringay.Whilst dating the lead singer of Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny in 1969 he appeared on their album Unhalfbricking. The two formed the band Fotheringay after Sandy left Fairport Convention in 1969. Trevor was helping Fairport Convention with their 1973 album Rosie when he joined the band. On 20 September 1973 Trevor and Sandy got married and shortly after Sandy rejoined Fairport Convention. In1978 Sandy died leaving Trevor to raise their newborn daughter, Georgia, by himself. Shortly after her death Lucas moved back to his homeland of Australia. Lucas started producing more albums and later started working on scores from the film industry. Trevor dropped in to the Troubadour in Melbourne from time to time to listen to music and after three years of sitting amongst the audience, he said “It makes me itchy to perform again. It would be good to do just a couple of gigs a month to keep my hand in.” These recording were taken over two nights in May 1982.In 1989, Trevor Lucas died of a heart attack in his sleep, in Sydney, Australia.
