Wolfscote Featuring Cathy Lesurf
With guests Dave Swarbrick’s last recording, Andy Cutting & Gordon Giltrap
The remarkable debut album from Wolfscote.Sublime arrangements, moving from intimate to awesome, this album combines a genre-defying freshness with a truly heart-felt interpretation of traditional music. Great voices improve with age, and TURN THE GLASS marks a stunning return to music of folk diva Cathy Lesurf (Fairport Convention, Albion Band, Oyster Band, hit single “Daytrip to Bangor”). Theres a new tenderness alongside the breathtaking clarity and range. Joined by the warm, vibrant singing of Isobel Kimberley, the powerful duet of these two voices is augmented by the remarkable harmony vocals of instrumentalist and producer, Jim Kimberley. Isobel, Jim and Gary Southwell play guitars, harp, ukelele, concertina, sruti and percussion. Guests are Andy Cutting, Gordon Giltrap, Dave Swarbrick and David Wilson. Engineered by Neil Segrott who also guests on bass guitar. The only word is beautiful (writer/director Tanya Myers). This will change the face of folk music, Gordon Giltrap.
